Founded in July 1902, United Brotherhood of Carpenters
and Joiners of America Local Union 1207 has been in the
forefront of labor activism in the Kanawha Valley for over a
hundred years. Our mission
is to protect and elevate the standard of living for all carpenters
living and working in West Virginia. Located in Charleston, our
jurisdictional area includes
Boone, Clay, Kanawha, Lincoln, Logan, Nicholas, Putnam, and Roane counties, Local 1207 is an affiliate of the Mid Atlantic Regional
Council of Carpenters, which includes West Virginia, Maryland,
Virginia and the District of Columbia.
Currently under the stewardship of Business Representative Scott
Brewer, we are committed to organizing new members and contractors
in our jurisdiction. We are also committed to training our
members in the latest construction safety and technology to keep
our members productively employed at the Carpenter craft. Local 1207
represents Commercial, Industrial, and Heavy-Highway Carpenters, Floor layers,
Pile Drivers,Welders,and Divers.
1207 members are experienced
professionals capable in all aspects of the trade from the
ground to the roof of virtually any type of building
construction from housing to skyscrapers. In addition, our
members are well seasoned in heavy construction,
bridges, power plants, locks and dams, highways, and scaffolding. |
